    WELCOME TO MY BLOG !

    WHEN I POST QUICKIE REVIEWS ON THE BOOK OF FACES I OFTEN GET COMMENTS LIKE ” OMG ! I REALLY LOVE YOUR POSTS ABOUT RESTAURANTS ! YOU ARE SO SMART AND FUNNY AND HANDSOME AND SEXY ! YOU SHOULD SOOOO TOTALLY DO A FOOD/RESTAURANT BLOG !” ( OKAY THAT MAY HAVE BEEN EMBELLISHED A TAD… ) SO HERE WE GO . THIS FIRST POST WILL BE ABOUT WHAT MY GOALS ARE IN STARTING A BLOG AND WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT FROM ME AND MY LITTLE OLD BLOG.

    OKAY LET’S GET THE UGLY OUT OF THE WAY FIRST….THE WORD BLOG…WTF… POSSIBLY THE WORST MOST UNIMAGINATIVE NAME FOR SOMETHING EVER. SOUNDS LIKE AN ALIEN RACE FROM STAR TREK. ( YES I KNOW…BORG WHICH DIFFERS BY EXACTLY ONE LETTER ). SO I GOOGLED BLOG TO FIND OUT THE ORIGIN OF THIS MONSTROSITY OF A NAME. TURNS OUT IT IS A SHORTENED VERSION OF WEBLOG WHICH ALTHOUGH BORING SOUNDS WAAAYYY BETTER THAN BLOG. SO WE HAVE ESTABLISHED THAT THE TERM CLEARLY WAS STARTED BY TECHY NERDY GEEKS. BUT NOT ONLY TECHY NERDY GEEKS BUT VERY LAZY TECHY NERDY GEEKS BECAUSE CLEARLY THAT EXTRA W AND E WAS KICKING THEIR ASS…..OKAY SO WE ARE STUCK WITH THIS SO NOW I AM WANDERINGVEGABOND.BLOG…..YAY…

    SO WHAT ARE MY GOALS FOR THIS BLOG ?

    TO MAKE ENOUGH MONEY TO GIVE UP MY HIGH PAYING JOB AND TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD EATING.NO ? SNOWBALLS CHANCE IN HELL ?

    OKAY THEN TO HAVE ENOUGH FOLLOWERS TO BECOME AN INFLUENCER … GET INVITED TO ALL THE HOLLYWOOD PARTIES ( YEAH..NO THANKS ) AND GET ACCESS TO ALL THE NEW RESTAURANT OPENINGS ( OKAY THAT PART SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD )…STILL NO ?

    WHAT IF I JUST GO AROUND EATING GOOD FOOD AND TALK ABOUT IT ? BETTER ? WELL GOOD CUZ THAT WAS MY GOAL ALL ALONG.

    SO IN THINKING ABOUT HOW TO DO THIS A COUPLE OF THINGS HAVE BECOME EVIDENT. FIRST I HAVE TO EAT AT ALL ECONOMIC LEVELS. IF ALL I DO IS EAT REALLY EXPENSIVE FOOD THAT WILL LOSE A LOT OF PEOPLE AND I WANT TO APPEAL TO ALL TYPES. SECOND I HAVE TO CHANGE MY EATING STYLE. WHEN I AM AT A NEW RESTAURANT I TEND TO ORDER TWO TO FOUR APPETIZERS AND NO ENTREE BECAUSE IT GIVES ME A BETTER FEEL FOR WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT AND STOPS ONE BAD DISH FROM RUINING THE EXPERIENCE. PEOPLE WILL WANT TO HERE ABOUT ENTREES SO I WILL HAVE TO FIND A COMPROMISE. IN FULL DISCLOSURE I AM NOT A FRIED FOOD PERSON OR DESSERT PERSON SO THOSE WILL BE GIVEN LESS TIME. IF THERE IS A DESSERT THAT LOOKS AMAZING I WILL TRY IT BUT I PREFER LESS SWEET DESSERTS SO KEEP THAT IN MIND.

    I READ A LOT OF COOKING MAGAZINES, COOKBOOKS, AND WATCH A BUNCH OF COOKING SHOWS SO IF I LIKE ONE IN PARTICULAR I WILL LYK.

    A WORD ABOUT FORMAT…WHEN I WRITE MY STANDUP I TAKE AN IDEA, USUALLY SOMETHING I HAVE SEEN OR EXPERIENCED , THEN I EMBELLISH IT, FIGURE OUT WHERE I WANT PAUSES, HOW TO BRING IT HOME. IT IS A STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS THING AND I DO NOT WORRY ABOUT GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION MUCH. I AM GOING TO BE PERFORMING IT ON STAGE AND IT WILL NOT BE READ ANYWAY. I PLAN ON DOING THE SAME HERE. IF I CANNOT JUST LET IT FLOW IT WILL STUNT THE PROCESS. THIS MAY UPSET GRAMMAR POLICE AND THIS MAY NOT BE THE SITE FOR YOU. IF ANYONE WANTS TO EDIT FOR ME AND CLEAN UP THE GRAMMAR ETC. LMK BUT BE WARNED…YOU WILL BE PAID IN PICKLES…

    OKAY THIS IS ALREADY LONGER THAN I WANT MY POSTS TO BE BUT IT WAS A NECESSARY EVIL. NO RESTAURANT REVIEW TODAY BUT LET’S GIVE A LITTLE USEFUL INFO HERE :

    THERE ARE TWO COOKING MAGAZINES I READ COVER TO COVER EVERY MONTH ( OR WHENEVER THEY COME OUT ). THE FIRST IS MILK STREET MAGAZINE. WHY ? I LOVE THE FORMAT. ONE PROBLEM WITH MANY FOREIGN RECIPES IS FINDING INGREDIENTS TRUE TO THE NATIVE RECIPE. IF THEY TRAVEL SOMEWHERE AND GET A RECIPE TO A DISH THAT THEY LIKE THEY BRING IT BACK TO THEIR TEST KITCHEN AND TRY TO APPROXIMATE IT IF THERE IS A HARD TO SOURCE INGREDIENT. THEY HAVE RECURRENT THEMES LIKE QUICKIE WORK DAY DISHES AND FAST AND SLOW WHICH PRESENT FAST ( INSTAPOT ) AND SLOW ( CROCKPOT ) VERSIONS OF RECIPES. THEY HAVE COOL GADGETS YOU CAN BUY AND THEY REVIEW COOKBOOKS. PLUS THEIR RECIPES ARE OFTEN THINGS I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO COOK AND EAT. THE OTHER IS EDIBLE NORTHEAST FLORIDA. ABOUT LOCAL BY LOCAL. SHOWS WHAT IS IN SEASON AND EACH ISSUE ABOUT A TOPIC. I WAS GOING TO SAY MORE BUT THAT IS ENOUGH FOR NOW. THIS WILL BECOME MORE POLISHED AND REFINED AS I FIND MY DIRECTION. FOR NOW HAPPY EATING !
